To qualify for a Swim With Leah Foundation Scholarship, you are required to be a permanent Volusia County resident. Currently there is limited funding available for scholarships. We are currently conducting fundraisers. You may complete the application and when funding is available, we will gladly review each application. You are required to include your hardship to be considered.
Applicants are required to explain their financial hardship and provide their most recent tax return for consideration. Failure to do so will disqualify the application.
Lesson scholarship recipients must register with Swim With Becky And Friends, LLC. within thirty-days of receiving notification of a scholarship award. Scholarship funding must be used within the same calendar year. As a recipient family: if you use any form of flotation device we require it to be a US Coastguard Approved, age and weight appropriate life jacket. To continuously put your children in arm bands or puddle jumpers defeats the purpose of survival lessons. These devices hinder a child from applying the skills learned and could actually cause more risk. Arm bands and puddle jumpers provide everyone involved with a false sense of security. If recipients fail to adhere to this requirement,we will seek reimbursement for funding provided.
