Making Change 4 Drowning Prevention Scholarship:

Making Change 4 Drowning Prevention offers scholarship opportunities for children with special needs who reside in Volusia County Florida. Applications must be completed by a parent or guardian. These scholarships are available as long as funding permits. Our scholarships do require you to give back to Making Change 4 Drowning Prevention, Swim For Leah Foundation or Colynn’s Oasis two hours of community service to assist us in educating the community on the importance of drowning prevention and water safety. All opportunities allow you to bring your child to fulfill service hours.

Florida Gardiner Scholarship recipients are not eligible for this funding. 

Scholarship application deadlines are the last day of each month. Funding notification will be announced to you via email by the second Friday of each month.

Note:

Registration fees are to be paid by all students.

You will be required to pay a portion of tuition, determined by the review committee.

Returning students will receive a maximum of three weeks tuition assistance.

New students will receive a maximum of six weeks tuition assistance.

Swim For Leah Foundation

The Swim For Leah Foundation was founded in 2019. Scholarship opportunities are available for families residing in Volusia County Florida who are not able to afford the normal tuition for lessons with Swim With Becky And Friends, LLC. You are required to complete the application, to include your financial hardship details on additional pages in ordered to be considered. Scholarships are available as long as funding permits. Scholarship awards do require you to give back to Making Change 4 Drowning Prevention, Swim For Leah Foundation or Colynn’s Oasis two hours of community service to assist us in educating the community on the importance of drowning prevention and water safety. All opportunities allow you to bring your child to fulfill service hours.

Florida Gardiner Scholarship:

Swim instructors are not regulated by the State of Florida, therefore we are not Florida Gardiner

For reimbursement:

  • You maybe required to preauthorize lessons prior to enrollment in an aquatics program
  • You are required to provide Florida Gardiner Scholarship a copy of a cancelled check, credit card payment OR I am told proof of payment via PayPal.
  • Our invoice alone will not suffice for reimbursement.
  • If you receive Florida Gardiner Scholarship for lessons, they will be billed out the full weekly rate. No discounts will be allowed.

Parent Handbook

Foundation For Foster Children, Inc.:

Florida children in Foster Care are eligible to receive lessons funded by the Foundation For Foster Children, Inc. For further information, please contact them directly.

Down Syndrome Foundation Of Florida:

The Down Syndrome Foundation Of Florida will pay a large percentage of swimming lessons with the parent being required to pay a small portion directly to the lesson provider. For further information, please visit their website.
